For grown-ups: Chimpal identifies which creature media uses an open Creative Commons license and which illustrations are original Chimpal output.

The license or usage-terms note beside a media item applies to that item, not to the rest of Chimpal. Each entry names its creator and source, links its license or usage terms, and records our crop or format changes. Adapted CC BY-SA images remain available under CC BY-SA 4.0.
